John Parry-Gordon (born 17 February 1945 in Wigan district[1] — died 3 November 2009 in Wigan[2]) was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1960s, '70s and '80s. At representative level he played for England, and Lancashire, and at club level for Warrington, playing at Scrum-half/Halfback, i.e. number 7.

International honours

Parry Gordon won a cap for England while at Warrington in 1975 against Papua New Guinea (sub).[3]

Parry Gordon was selected for England Squad while at Warrington for the 1975 Rugby League World Cup. However, Parry Gordon did not participate in any of the nine matches.

Club career

Parry Gordon signed for Warrington on the 17th February 1961, his 16th birthday, for £400 (based on increases in average earnings, this would be approximately £14,900 in 2009).[4]

Genealogical Information

Although being known as Parry Gordon his first name is actually John, Parry being his mother's maiden surname. So he's really John Parry-Gordon.
